E308L-16 is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel covered electrode designed for welding 304 and 304L stainless steels using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
The electrode features a rutile-type coating that provides smooth arc characteristics, stable metal transfer, and easy slag removal. It is widely used in fabrication, installation, and maintenance welding where portability and flexibility of manual welding are required.
Due to its low carbon content, E308L-16 helps minimize the risk of intergranular corrosion in welded joints while maintaining good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
