ENiCrMo-3 Welding Electrode Supplier / Inconel 625 Filler Metal

ENiCrMo-3 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum covered electrode for SMAW. It is designed for welding Inconel 625, nickel-base alloys, and selected dissimilar metals where high corrosion resistance, strength, and reliable weld performance are required.

Compared with ERNiCrMo-3 welding wire, ENiCrMo-3 is supplied as a covered electrode for manual stick welding, making it particularly suitable for field fabrication, maintenance, repair, offshore work, and applications where portable SMAW equipment is preferred.

Key Features of ENiCrMo-3 Electrode

Ø Excellent Corrosion Resistance: ENiCrMo-3 provides strong resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-containing environments.

Ø 625-Type Weld Metal: Its Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb composition is designed for applications involving Inconel 625 and similar nickel-base alloys.

Ø Suitable for Dissimilar Welding: The electrode is widely considered for selected joints between nickel alloys, stainless steels, carbon or low-alloy steels, and other demanding material combinations.

Ø Ideal for Field & Repair Welding: The SMAW electrode format is convenient for maintenance, repair, construction sites, and locations where TIG or MIG wire-feeding equipment is less practical.

Ø High Strength and Ductility: ENiCrMo-3 provides a combination of high tensile strength and ductility for demanding industrial service conditions.

Suitable Base Materials

Base Material Typical Use
Inconel 625 / UNS N06625 Matching-alloy welding
Nickel-base Alloys Nickel alloy fabrication and repair
9% Nickel Steel LNG and cryogenic applications
5% Nickel Steel Low-temperature applications
254 SMO / UNS S31254 Corrosion-resistant welding
Stainless Steels Dissimilar-metal welding
Carbon / Low-Alloy Steels Selected dissimilar-metal welding
Note: Final filler metal selection should be based on the base materials, service conditions, WPS/PQR and project requirements.

ENiCrMo-3 for Demanding Applications

ENiCrMo-3 covered electrodes are used in demanding industrial applications where manual welding and corrosion-resistant nickel alloy weld metal are required.

  • Offshore & Marine— offshore structures, marine equipment, seawater-exposed components and field repairs
  • Oil & Gas— piping, valves, pressure equipment and corrosion-resistant repairs
  • Chemical Processing— process piping, vessels, heat exchangers and corrosive-service equipment
  • LNG & Cryogenic— 9% nickel steel and low-temperature equipment
  • Power & Heavy Industry— high-alloy components, pressure equipment and maintenance
  • Maintenance & Repair— localized repair, fabrication and field welding

ENiCrMo-3 vs ERNiCrMo-3

ENiCrMo-3 and ERNiCrMo-3 are both associated with Inconel 625 nickel weld metal, but they are designed for different welding processes and product forms.

Feature ENiCrMo-3 ERNiCrMo-3
Product Form Covered Electrode Welding Wire / Rod
Welding Process SMAW / MMA GTAW / GMAW
AWS Standard A5.11 A5.14
EN ISO Standard 14172 18274
ISO Classification E Ni 6625 S Ni 6582
Shielding Gas Not required Required
Typical Use Field, maintenance & repair Production & controlled welding
Main Advantage Portable manual welding Continuous wire welding
  • Choose ENiCrMo-3 when the application requires a nickel alloy stick electrode for SMAW.
  • Choose ERNiCrMo-3 when GTAW or GMAW welding wire is required.
